Project Summary
The Arndale Centre is considered to be the major retail centre in the heart of the city of Manchester. Speedwell played a key role in the roofing and cladding of the new retail mall as part of an extensive redevelopment programme.

Initially foam glass insulation was laid to the roofs and covered with a felt layer. This reduced the project development time by enabling the works below roof level to continue while the membrane, composite wall cladding and roof
sheeting, and powder-coated aluminium louvres were installed.

The centre location produced many challenges which required extremely effective logistics management. All materials were hoisted onto the site roof during evenings when road closures were in place.

Thanks to the hard work of our project team the work was completed on time, on budget and Speedwell was presented with the Incident
and Injury Free Award upon completion
of the project.
