Primary Health Centre - Kirkby, Merseyside

Main Contractor - Gallifords Ltd

Main Architect - JM Architects

Project Summary
This purpose-built Primary Health Centre for the residents of Tower Hill in Kirkby was of similar specification to a concurrent project Speedwell was developing in Widnes. The new centre was part of a £6million community complex and was designed to deliver first class healthcare in a cutting-edge facility. It was one of the initial stages in the transformation plans for the Tower Hill area.

As with the Widnes project, our in-house team worked in partnership with JM Architects at the early design stage to ensure that the specified material elements interfaced effectively and met the original brief in terms of its aesthetics. For example, the zinc standing seam cladding created an impressive feature of the new pharmacy building.

Installation of the overhang roof detail provided an interesting Health & Safety working challenge which was overcome by using a combi safety net system. This ensured we maintained a 100% safe working environment for our construction team.
