Queen’s Park Hospital - Blackburn
Main Contractor -
Balfour Beatty Construction Ltd
Main Architect - Seymour Harris Keppie
Project Summary
The Queen’s Park Hospital development involved the construction of a new hospital extension and Energy Centre building. We worked in partnership with our sister company Speedwell Architectural Glazing to deliver a successful project which required a high level of design expertise, extremely accurate workmanship and great attention to detail.
Due to site access restrictions and clients requirements, the KalZip roof sheets for the main building were site rolled and lifted to roof level for installation. Speedwell Architectural Glazing manufactured the gutters, fascias and distinct curved bullnose ridge and were therefore able to co-ordinate the works effectively and maximise installation efficiencies.
Completed on schedule and to budget, Speedwell was awarded a Balfour bi-monthly safety award for Safe Working Practices during the construction works.
